Endodontics (Root Canal)

Teeth that are badly damaged by decay or fractures can be saved by Endodontics (Root Canal) therapy. The nerves of the teeth are most commonly damaged by infection from cavities that become too large, which causes the nerve to die, and eventually becomes a dental abscess. Abscessed teeth have to be treated with Endodontics (Root Canal) or extracted, to remove the infection from the mouth. The sick or infected pulp of the tooth is removed and the inside of the roots are thoroughly cleaned. The space is then filled with an inert sealer to prevent infection. The remaining natural roots can then support a crown that will last for many years. At AMG Dental Group we strive to save the natural teeth and therefore provide our patients with complete root canal therapy in most cases.
